Luhansk Regional Council Demanding Rada Grant Russian Status Of Second State Language, Hold Referendum On Ukraine’s Federalisation)
– In the event of further escalation of the conflict Luhansk Region reserves its right to resort for help to the brotherly people of the Russian Federation.
– disarm all military formations acting in the Ukrainian territory ( i.e. Ukrainian Army )

The Luhansk Regional Council at the extraordinary session on March 2 passed an appeal to the Verkhovna Rada with a demand to grant Russian status of second state language and hold a pan-Ukrainian referendum on federalisation of Ukraine.
This decision received votes of 92 Councillors out of the 93 present at the session.
In the appeal the Regional Council also demands to stop immediately politically motivated persecution of security officials who were working in Kyiv during the protest actions; not to allow reduction of the amount of social guarantees, and tariff raising; disarm all military formations acting in the Ukrainian territory; guarantee citizens safety; not to allow censorship of the media; and coordinate all personnel appointments with regional authorities.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, some 300 people are rallying in support of south-eastern Ukraine near the building of the regional state administration and regional council in central Luhansk.
The assembly, wearing St George ribbons on their sleeves, is holding Russian flag.
The rally is due to the regional council holding an extraordinary session.
