On March 12 at 01:00 the Security Service of Ukraine staff detected and detained a reconnaissance group of the Russian Armed Forces, which penetrated the territory of Kherson Region from Crimea bypassing check points, reads a statement made by the SBU press service.
It says the reconnaissance group’s task was to study the operational environment, obtain data on dislocation, and state of preparedness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces detachments in Kherson Region’s territory.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on March 11 the Internal Affairs Ministry and the Security Service of Ukraine detained an employee of Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Donetsk.
